City of Houston Rescinds Stage One of the Drought Contingency Plan

<p><strong>HOUSTON </strong>- The City of Houston will rescind Stage One of the City's <a href="https://www.houstonpublicworks.org/sites/g/files/nwywnm456/files/003-houston_2024_drought_contingency_plan_07302025.pdf">Drought Contingency Plan</a>, effective May 29, 2024. Houston Public Works recommended rescinding Stage One due to the increased rainfall and steady reservoir levels following recent storms.</p>
<p>City of Houston water customers are reminded to continue everyday efforts to prevent the loss of water: 
 
•    Check for and repair all leaks, dripping faucets, and running toilets.  
•    Check sprinkler heads to make sure water is not spraying into the street or directly into storm drains. </p>
