Houston Public Works Press Release

Emergency Wastewater Line Repairs Impacting Texas Medical Center Traffic

January 10, 2024

HOUSTON - Houston Public Works is performing emergency repairs due to a break in a 54-inch wastewater line that impacted a water line and other utilities along Main Street and University Boulevard. Several lanes of traffic at this intersection are closed as Houston Water makes these repairs. Houston Police are assisting our crews by performing traffic control in the area. Commuters and patients should plan accordingly and use alternate routes as crews work diligently to complete the repairs.

Please note that the repairs are not impacting water service to facilities in the area.
