Property Owners Should Prepare for Lower Lake Levels

Houston Public Works will temporarily lower Lake Houston by 12-inches in preparation for the upcoming rain event. Lowering will begin at 4 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2024. It takes 24-hours to lower Lake Houston by 12-inches. The lake level will be reduced to an elevation of 41.4 feet, weather permitting.


Property owners should secure property along the shoreline.
