Property Owners Should Prepare For Lower Lake Levels

<p><strong>HOUSTON </strong>- Houston Public Works will temporarily lower Lake Houston by <strong>12-inches</strong> in preparation for the upcoming forecasted rain event. Lowering will begin at <strong>12 p.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025</strong>.<strong> </strong>It takes 24 hours to lower Lake Houston by 12-inches. The lake level will be reduced to an elevation of <strong>41.4 feet. </strong></p>
<p>Property owners should secure property along the shoreline.</p>
