Property Owners Should Prepare For Lower Lake Levels

HOUSTON - Houston Public Works will temporarily lower Lake Houston by 12-inches in preparation for the upcoming forecasted rain event. Lowering will begin at 12 p.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025. It takes 24 hours to lower Lake Houston by 12-inches. The lake level will be reduced to an elevation of 41.4 feet.
Property owners should secure property along the shoreline.
